I think students caused the achievement gap because they start to give up in school.

2. What can students do to close the gap?(3)

a. They can try there best in everything.
b. They shouldn't give up so fast
c. They should have a positive attitude towards school.

a. They can encourage their children to do good in school.
b. They can ask what they learned in school.
c. They will be willing to help their chicldren and have them not give up.

a. The teachers can have faith in the students.

Guest Speaker: Tom Hayden

1. What did you think of Mr. Hayden?

I thought he was an interesting person. He's met many famous people, like Ceasar Chavez and Malcolm X.

2. Tom Hayden does not think of himself as a civil rights leader. Do you see him as one? Why or why not?

I think he's not a civil right leader, but I think he's a leader, because he was helping blacks to vote and planning sit-ins.

3. Tom Hayden feels that leaders are not as importnat as hundreds of thousands of people behind them. What does he mean by that?

I think he means, the people that are protesting are getting the word out, but the leaders, just have to say what they think about the problem, but the people can protest and get asked more questions that the leaders.

Well, today is so boring, but I'm dying my hair! YES! It's going to be a dark read! yup yup! This weekend is going to be so boring too. I might hang out with my friend but I'm not really sure. Oh, I finally got the new Wednesday 13 cd! YES! It's the bomb! The whole album is good! It sounds just like the old one, but it's so kool!!! I love it! Stop Hurting Yourself

The sign "Stop Hurting Yourself" means that, you shouldn't call yourself names to put you down. Or it could mean, not to do things to yourself that can hurt you, like drugs, or drinking. I think Mr.Hsu put the sign up, that way we know that we shouldn't bring ourselves down. Or do anything to harm ourselves. Well a situation of this is, when this girl/boy was taken to the hospital because of to much alcohal. It affected the persons. But this situation didn't really affect me because I didn't know this person. This is the truth. But If it was my friend, I would have been sad and worried about that person. I think it gave a shock to the others that witnessed this situation because they probalby never seen something like this happen at school.

I think failure is bad, because is you fail something, your going to regret it forever. So it's best to succssed in school, or a job, that way you don't feel bad about failing something. One of the biggest failures I've had, was not failing to keep a promise. The way it affected me wasn't that bad, I just had to keep a promise. Well I learned that if I want to be trusted, I have to keep something that I say I will. I think my teacher had us hear this is because, he wants to send us a message about how we can learn for ours mistakes.

Things I've learned since the first day of school

Well, since I've can to this school, we were going to learn about leadership in our technology class. So, ever since then, I've learned how to make a website. An other thing I learned was how to use flash. That was cool, using all these things to make a commerical. Oh and finally, I learned how to use the powerpoint thing more better. The first thing that I want to learn is how to put up a website. The second thing is I want learn how to be a master at computers. I'm almost there. Oh and the last thing I want to learn is how to make movies on the computer. That would be cool and fun. Well bye bye for now!!

Free Write!! YAY!!

Well, since today is Friday, I have a free write in my tech class. So anyways, i don't know what write about, so I'm going to say random things until I think of something. So.......well the band Resin Felt is having a concert on Saturday the 4. I think it's going to be in Pomona, but I'm not sure. If you go on their myspace, they might have a flyer advertising it, or someone might put a comment with the flyer on their page. But I'm not really sure. All I know is that Ruben the guitarist says "whatever" a lot. He says it with a Peruvian accent, because he's from Peru. Uh......this class is so fun!!! I get to be on the computer during the whole class. YAY!!! Oh, I got a new Ipod!!! It's an 80 gb. I got it yesterday!!! It's black and it's greatness!!!
I write a lot sometimes about random things. I hope people read this. No I don't lol. Oh I got a new jacket with DEVIl horns on the hood. It's so cool!!!! I love my new jacket too!!!! It's warm and it's soft and it's black!! WOOT WOOT!!! Well, I have to go and do my website thing. Peace!!!

Pay It Forward Questions

The theme of this movies, is that doing good will always help. The messages is that, if you do something good, most likely your going to spread it around. Well the most interesting character is Trever, because he's trying to help his mom feom drinking and help his teacher at the sametime. He's also trying to help students at his school not do bad things. Well if I was making a Pay It Forward part 2, the character would be the same just different genders.I would have them do the same meaning of the first one, but a new person will help try and get her father to stop doing drugs and other bad things that affect her.

The Ativity

I think this activity has made a change on the way 9th grader treat each other, because it gives them a chance to make a new friend and help someone they don't know.I think if the 10th and 11th graders were in this ativity to, the whole school could be getting along. If we continute this ativity for the rest of the year, I think that the whole school would be more a family. We would change are chosen one every week and this way, we can meet new people and know most of the students in our school.

1. What did you think about meeting Joe Hicks? I thought it was cool meeting Joe Hicks. Since I looked up things about him for my notes, I thought he was an interesting person. 2. What qualities does Joe have that make him a leader? The qualities he has is that makes him a leader, is he's a convinsing speaker, and has a cool personality. 3. Why do some leaders change their position on some issues? I think some leaders chage their positions on issues, because they have different oppinions after they hear someone else speak. 4. Hungry!!!

I'm so freaking hungry!!!!!!!! I want to eat so badly!!!!! I want a big hamberger or something really good and will make me happy. I want ice cream! I want to eat brownies!!!!! Resin Felt

Since there are so many bands out there, you might of not heard of this one. This band is called Resin Felt!!! They are a Peruvian metal band. This is a great band. Ok, so here are the names of the people that are in Resin Felt, Vocals:Peru D, Guitar:Ruben, Drums:Gerry, Bass:JP. Ask them when they have shows so you can see how well they are live. First Week of High School

Well, today will be the first week of high school for me. So, in my technology class, I learned how to make flash animation. It was cool. We started with doing our names and making then creative. Anyways, at Animo, I leared if you want to have free dess on Friday's ,you can be tardy three times in one semester. To me , at this point high school seems easy and hard. Even though this is my first week, I still need to have more time until I can determin if it's really hard or easy at a collage prep school. For me to succeed in high school, I have to have a positive attitude, that way I will be able to do my work . Oh yeah , I forgot one thing. If I do my best I know I'll succeed in high school.

First Month of High School

Well I fell that the first moth of high school is easy and hard. It was some what of how I expected it to be. I can now say that I do trust Animo Venice. I now trust them because, since this school is a family, Ishould learn to trust family members. Well I'm not really sure if the teachers and principals trust me, but I think they will after a while.

My name is Stephanie and I'm in high school. I'm a very interesting person once you get to know me. I like to listen to music all the time. I like creepy dolls called Living Dead Dolls.
